Wonderful toucans.
This first term in Art, the boys and girls
from 5th and 6th grade, have painted toucans in the
jungle, in Henri Rousseau’s style.
In this project we have learnt lots of
things about Henri Rousseau and how he painted and lived. Each one created
his/her painting, following a rubric.
First we draw the toucan. Then we painted
the toucan with crayons.
We draw leaves and painted with a different
variety of watercolor greens. We also painted the sky with watercolors. We
outlined everything and finally we shaded the leaves.
The project is very funny. It is easy and
the results are very beautiful. We like the project because there many
different colors.

Learning about Astronomy.
Today we have gone to the UdG's Parc Tecnològic to learn about Astronomy.
We've been in a Planetarium and we have looked at stars, contellations, galaxies, the planets, meteorites...It's been very good.
We've looked at the Sun spots through a telescope but today there were very small spots.
We've used computers to calculate the time the Sun needs to rotate. To do this we've observed the spots in some pictures taken day after day with a satellite.
We think it's been an interesting activity, some parts even funny, but it's been difficult to understand everything.

A visit from Australia
Today, a girl from Australia has visited the class of 5th graders. Her name is Cleo and she is 18 years old. We asked her questions about her personal life and about Australia. She explained us things about the Australian traditions, the sports, the animals, the food etc. She also explained that in Australia it is a different time and a different season. Finally we recommended her some places to visit, for example the cathedral, “la Devesa” and “el cul de la lleona”. We liked the visit a lot because we learned new things about Australia.
Thank you for coming Cleo!
